...And Many More

Happy birthday to justifiablepictures.com!

We at Justifiable Pictures want to thank you for visiting us and checking out the projects we have been working on during the last year since our website was born. Since then we have contributed to a number of great projects and even completed our debut feature film. In recent months we have focused our attention on submitting The Backslide to film festivals all over the country and will continue to do so as we search for the best way to release this film to the broadest audience possible. In the meantime, check out our new documentary Written by: Gail Parent now available in the projects page! It’s funny, it’s sweet, and it contains cinematography shot by yours truly. We had a great time contributing to this film and hope you enjoy it.

This year our wild love affair with the writing process has also presented itself in a number of new projects in development, including but not limited to feature screenplays, television pilots, and even sketch comedy. Comedy duo Slim Shady have teamed up with Justifiable Pictures this year to develop a new comedy series expected to air early 2019. These very talented guys first worked with Justifiable Pictures in The Backslide, and our relationship continues to grow in exciting new ways. If you have never seen their live improv shows, you are missing out! In addition to these new comedy projects, stay tuned for some more nuanced and experimental efforts also in development. We expect to surprise even ourselves in this next year.

With Thanksgiving around the corner, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for checking out and sharing our work, thank you for giving us the opportunity to do what we are most passionate about, and thank you for your love of all things creative! Enjoy your holiday, friends!

Inside Movies Galore

Hello gang!

We had a tremendous friends and family screening of our brand new debut feature film The Backslide on April 19th in Milwaukee to a showing of well over 100 incredible people, many of which expressed that they cannot wait to see this film again! Such an incredible experience and we are incredibly grateful for the support. We now look forward to dramatically expanding our audience as we pursue the festival circuit and begin our search for the best distribution avenue fit possible.

And in other fun news, last night I sat down with the fine folks at Inside Movies Galore for their podcast to chat about The Backslide, independent filmmaking, and my experience getting killed by a deranged cookie. It was a lot of fun and I thank David and Katie for the opportunity! Check it out below and let us know what you think!

Have a great week!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everybody!

The fourth quarter of 2017 proved to be a very busy time for us at Justifiable Pictures, and I'm not just talking about the Christmas shopping and drinking all that egg nog. We've also been creating! The Backslide is on pace to hopefully start hitting screens as soon as April, with the original score by Zach Kamins now complete along with the sound mixing and color work currently underway. Graphic design work by Pat Schaefer Art is also moving along nicely. They provided that adorable Justifiable Pictures logo you see all over this site, plus the brand new movie poster for The Backslide coming very soon.

As if all that didn't keep us busy enough, we also teamed up with filmmaker Stacy Sherman and editor Benjamin Cook to shoot a very cool short documentary. The subject is funny gal Gail Parent, a legendary and delightful writer and author from such projects as Golden Girls and The Carol Burnett Show, and whom was often the only female in the writer's room. She's definitely left her mark in the entertainment industry as revealed through great archival footage, as well as new interviews with Gail herself and the incredible people in her life. We can't wait to show you this piece in the coming days!

2018 is looking bright and we at Justifiable Pictures wish you nothing but the best this year!
